Need a Sales Boost to End the Year?

Are you planning holiday sales programs this Christmas and New Year’s season?  They generate goodwill and give your business the opportunity for more visibility — not to mention increasing sales.

Holiday promotions are not just for consumers.  Small businesses respond to them, too.

Remember that with small business customers, you are dealing with sales situations that may more often resemble consumer sales, than they do enterprise sales.  The smaller the business (e.g., microbusiness/SOHO), the more true this is.

An article by Kim Gordon in Entrepreneur magazine suggests four ways to gain visibility and increase sales this holiday season:

  • Roll out premium customer rewards
  • Create a unique holiday promotion
  • Donate a portion of your proceeds
  • Hold a charitable holiday party

And, of course, I’ll add my own suggestion: don’t forget good old-fashioned, end-of-year incentives for your sales force.
